How We Estimate Net Worth

Every net worth figure on thefameworth.com is an estimate. This page explains how we build it, what we count, and what we do not count.

Our sources

We build each estimate from public sources and reporting, including Forbes, Celebrity Net Worth, Parade, Robb Report, company filings such as SEC filings, box office reporting, and other public reporting. Each profile lists the sources its figure comes from. We do not use private bank records, and we do not have access to anyone’s private finances.

What counts

We count what public reporting can support: reported earnings from music, films, streaming and touring; reported pay for roles and deals; known business stakes and exits with reported values; and property with a reported purchase price or valuation. A deal only counts when a reliable public source reports it.

What we do not count

We do not count unconfirmed deals, rumoured contracts, or private company valuations with no public source behind them. We do not count a gross box office or tour gross as take-home pay: production, promoters, venues, commissions and tax come out first. And we do not count a headline number from a single unverified source as the figure.

Ranges, not single numbers

Where sources disagree, we show the range and lead with the figure we judge best supported. A range is more honest than a single number when the underlying facts are uncertain, so most profiles lead with a range and name the source of the headline figure.

Updates

Figures are reviewed when new public reporting appears, and the Last Updated date on each profile shows when its figure was last checked. A figure can move up or down as new reporting comes out.
